Solutions:
THOUGHT-PROVOKING
LECTURES AND SEMINARS:
Dr. Goldberg is known as an engaging and entertaining lecturer who conveys
complex ideas simply, yet powerfully. Dr. Goldberg is available to address
both upper management and technical staff on subjects ranging from the
strategic implications of genetic and evolutionary computation to the
nuts and bolts of making GAs solve hard problems, quickly, reliably,
and accurately.
ONE-DAY OR MULTI-DAY SHORT
COURSES:
Recently 27 engineers and computer scientists assembled in a conference
room at a major manufacturer in Central Illinois for a customized one-day
short course given by Dr. Goldberg and an assistant aimed at getting
those engineers up to speed on the latest in genetic algorithms technology
and applications. A number of those engineers are now using GAs to optimize
engineering systems.
CUSTOMIZED SMALL-GROUP PRIVATE
INSTRUCTION:
Not long ago, a team of three engineers from a engineering software
in the field of fluid flow were trained by Dr. Goldberg in a week-long
private training session aimed at getting GA techniques incorporated
into this company's suite of analysis software. As a result of that
session, GAs are now running in this software package and are a feature
component of the design package.
ON-SITE OR OVER-THE-PHONE
CONSULTATION:
Genetic algorithms are complex systems, and few people can diagnose
and solve GA-related problems like Dr. Goldberg. From coding selection,
operator design, to parameter tuning and operator integration, Dr. Goldberg
can quickly answer questions of both a general and detailed nature that
would otherwise take many hours of painstaking reading and research
to answer. Recently, Dr. Goldberg worked with a software division of
a major Japanese electronics firm to help create a large-scale GA-based
crew scheduling application.
